Photo Contest

Hey guys I just got pm from Ron asking me to Head up the Photo Contest.

So let's please begin by making suggestions here for a theme.

I think with the next meet being in January, and I'd like to give everyone ample time, to get their Pictures together and submitted, we should just decide on a theme for this one.

So please make your suggestions here. I will start a poll, after we have some suggestions.

The poll will run for 10 days from the day it is started, to give everyone a chance to vote. After which time, I will post the theme in a new thread, for everyone to post their submissions in.

More rules to come. But for now we need an Official Theme for the next meeting ASAP.

So May I suggest as a theme

1. MY Favorite Fish
(can just be a photo of your favorite fish or a photo of your favorite fish doing something endearing)


Let's get some ideas going

something as simple as "color" would be nice too, this would open the door for corals, fish, rock, anything.

That is a good one but we must remember newbies with softies may not have much color.

so perhaps we could so softies in this color / and LPS in this color and SPS in whatever color.

And take the best from each catagory or something.

Then color would be fair to everyone.

Remember we want newbies as well as the old timers to enter the contest.

But I agree I like the color theme and maybe wouldn't be a problem as long as it is something live in the tank with that color, fish, inverts and corals. HUMM I like it very very much.

color is good, every beginner has some kind of color as long as they have the right lighting. Keep going though.

How about nicest macro (close up) shot. It amazes me how nice of shots some people can get, the detail can be amazing!

Hey, I've got an idea! How about a theme of "health" thats what we are all about anyway, the health of our animals.

Dang I am good tonight LOL.

I thought it was strange but then again Macro algea can be cool too when shot close up. Especially if you are using a macro lens to get all the little critters included.

I vote for number 5. Favorite animal. I think this will be an interesting mix of fish, corals, and invertebrates, and some non-reef species tanks are very cool. I hear Shane's seahorse tank is really nice!
