Photo Contest

Do we have a photo contest? If not I think that would be a pretty cool thing to do in the club.
I know we don't have alot of people in the club but I still think it would be fun to see what people come up with.

We could one month do like fish
then the next month do corals or inverts.

Then we could have people vote on the one they like best.
Who ever gets first could win like some coral frags or gift certficets.
I'm sure we could think of some other prizes.

I don't know I just thought it would be a good way to get people involved. And I think it would be fun to see what everybody has.

I can't take good pics, I just take a lot of pics and have a crappy camera. I just took this one tonite to let Matt know this little guy loves having his picture taken and he's still here!!!

we sorta tried something like this before but with the website never getting updated it never really worked out. I really wish we could get the featured tank rolling again

Then we could also have a macro lense category and non-macro to kinda make the playing-fields more even? Just another idear!

I love this Idea. we should try this. Im willing to help anyone that wants to take a pic and im sure jasons wife would help too if shes willing.

Good idea acidlittle. I like macro lense idea. Maybe this is some thing we could try when the new website is up and running.

Wesly2006 thanks for offering your help. Hopefully we can get this thing rolling when the new site is up and running.

Lori M the way I get halfway decint pic is I get out a TV tray and my tripod that helps to stablize the camera then I use the timer thats on the camera. Try that and see if that helps.

I think we need to make it simpler to post pics on the new site before we go into a contest.

If you go to the new websites homepage, click on community, drop the selection boxes down. From there you will see a selection box titles GIRS Discussion Forums, click that. Once the new page pops up if you look down the list of forums the first to last forum is titled photos, this will be the area we hope to have people post there pics. Later as the site is used more and we have several pictures of various things we might work on having them as a slideshow of sorts throughout the site showing various peoples tanks and such HTH Jason

I found it, but it looks like no one knows how to post pics. I tried the html code from photobucket, but that doesn't seam to work. Must be a slight variation in html code.

I guess theres a fairly large bug that is causing all the issues. The new version of the software will hopfully take care of the problem and make it easier to post pics......it's like a good car you have to brake it in before it runs nice
