Photo Lab?

Does anyone send their pictures out to a lab somewhere to have them printed and shipped back? I'm just curious as there might be somewhere better than the local place and possibly at a better price?

Thanks.

I use a local mom and pop shop whom I love and appreciate. The honest and experienced backed advice I recieved from this place is unmatched. They know exactly who I am, what I need, and offer a fair price before I walk in the door. I bought my 24-70 f/2.8 from them out of respect even though B&H offered a little less.

My photography print lab is:
Miracle Photo in Titusville, FL
My 2nd go to guy is:
B&H Photo Video in New York City, NY

Support your local photo shops just like your local fish stores!

I've heard many good reviews of WHCC (White House Custom Color) and mpix.

EDIT: But yes....I'd support my local shops before sent anything off to be printed.

Now....to capture an image I find worthy of being printed.......

I've used mpix and have been happy with them.

I almost always print my own stuff. I prefer to own the whole process from capture to presentation.

beerguy, if I want to do my own prints, what printer would you recommend? 8x10 would be the standard size and once in a while maybe a 16x22 or something.

My local is fedex Kinko's.

The big price jump occurs when you want to go bigger than 13 x 19. I use an Epson R2400 (replaced with the R2880 ) but have heard really good things about the Canon iPF5100
