and superkat, i just have a Meade i believe 6" reflector. I use my SLR for the astro stuff
 
my first attempt at doing something at night. other than astrophotography. Came out OK. i need some more tips though on this sorta stuff

Brandon, seriously...we need to talk....those photos are AMAZING. crisp, clear and very, very soulful....i'm an artist...i paint...and i want to paint these photos. what else do you have???? sorry, i hijacked the thread. Pm me, Brandon.

oh, you should have a look through mine...12" refractor, motorized...computer...autofind....that you posted my two most favorite messier objects, M31 and M42??(insert childlike giggle)....and believe me, that pic of M31? Excellent...hard to get one that clear.
 
thanks, yea, i went threw a astro photography phase where i wanted to see all the stuff. i have a few doctors that i work with that have not kidding you, their own observatories and everything. i have never been able to see the dead star inside the ring nebula until i looked threw a (i think) 20" dob scope that stands like 10 feet tall lol crazy stuff


my Meade has the auto star computer and everything too, its neat but ive never gotten it setup. i like to manually know where im looking so i can find in the sky without letting the scope tell me where it is haha
