I am converting part of my sump into a fuge with cheato and was wondering what kind of photoperiod is necessary to keep it healthy and growing.Any help would be great thanks.
Most people here give chaeto a 24 hour photoperiod so as to maximize nutrient export. If your goal is to minimize pH swings, you may instead choose to use a reverse photoperiod that is (24-actinic) hours long. But as long as chaeto is given 5100K light, high flow, and 'trate rich water, it will thrive with any photoperiod between the two.
