Learning more and more about photography each time I fiddle with the camera. As much as I probably should read up on what the heck I'm doing, I enjoy learning on my own through trial and error. It makes a good additional hobby with reefing. Here are more recent pics

Somebody's got a macro lens :p

Somebody's got a macro lens :p

Just wanted to update my photo thread. A couple months ago I got a macro lens and started taking pictures. Heres some of my first macros

Here's some more recent photos. I'm currently shooting in RAW with my 35mm 1:3.5 macro lens and editing in the olympus software. I've been fiddling and doing some light reading and I'm finally understanding how to take decent photos (i think). Been shooting all manual adjusting aperture, shutter speed, manual focus and light balance. I'm feeling like I'm just starting to get good at it. It doesn't take me 20 photos to get the settings right (imagine if I was using film..). I also bought a tripod. here's some photos I took this morning

and apparently I'm now the family photographer....this little tater tot is my niece

It's enjoyable watching your images improve! Keep up the good work.

I see some personality in the first shot of the scopas and the first and third dog shots. Well done.

I suggest avoiding center composition.
