Both of my phyto culture jars just died completely, as well as my entire culture tank of rotifers. I believe my mistake was introducing water with predators in it. I did not microwave the water which I used, it came out of my saltwater vat. I tried saving the rotifer cysts at the bottom, (if there were any, it was just a little muck), with no success. It is very inconvenient for me to microwave water. If I have a UV sterilization lamp for my saltwater vat, is this a sufficient replacement for micro-waving?
