Anyone in B_N culture their own phyto and willing to share a starter culture for me? I have heard that you can't use DT's for a starter anymore..does anyone know for sure?

New to me. About 5 years ago I did a culture from DT's and seemed to work good. Let me know what you find. Yesterday my gf Deana setup containers in the living room to grow phyto.

Some say Dt's will work with their new 3 part mix, most say it doesn't. I just started pod cultures in my old frag tank, so I will be needing some phyto real soon, I hate spending on DT's, I think I will try a batch tomorrow and see if it works, should know by this weekend if it crashes. Does anyone else dose their tanks with baby brine? My LPS go nuts.

Today I started a culture using DT's and liqid fertilizer for my old planted tank. I also ordered culture disk and MicroGrow from Florida Aqua Farms, so if anyone is interested, I should have cheap phyto in a few weeks.

I would just call DT's and ask them. I've met the guy that started it. I only remember him saying that you still need a fresh batch from him once in a while. In other words don't use your cultures to start a new one. Always start from DT's. I also remember him stating that your cultures you make are not DT's. Only DT's can make DT's phyto. Don't call what you make "DT's" You will get a nasty gram. I would like to know the answer too.

Tried twice with DT's, crashed both times, but my nanochloropsis from FAF is doing great on the 4th day.
