my phyto wont get dark, the darkest it gets is at day 3 or 4 (bottle on right at day 4) if I leave it longer it will start to crash turning yellow, then white (bottle on left is at 6 days and starting to turn yellow) im using micro algae grow and RO water, I haven't been topping off for evaporation could this be the problem?

What is your salinity on your grow media? It almost sounds like they're running out of nutrients. Can you provide more details about your growth media?

is it new water or tank water? buffed? you can try putting in some trace elements. Are you on the right lighting cycle 16 on 8 off? temp okay? what strain? sorry for all the questions but phyto can be complicated in certain situations and depending on what strain your useing.

Everything sounds right unless your running light 24/day. As jpitts101 wrote you must have at least 8 hours off.

It is possible that light may be a limiting nutrient so to speak. You could try a brighter light or use a white 5 gallon bucket as a cheap reflector. Place the light vertically inside with the phyto to make better use of your light output.

lights are on 16 off 8, I use new water, this is the nano strain, not sure about temp but its at room temp along with any heat from the light

try switching the light and the phyto, meaning put the phyto agianst the wall and the light in front. put a mirror or peice of white styrofoam behind the phyto to relect the light better. If everything is good then it may not be getting enough light thus the reason its crashing while getting green. The light may not be able to penatrate far enough.
