I guess I'm missing something, the equipment should be extremely clean... Then why use tap water that is loaded with chloramine and many other contaminants that will wreak havoc on our systems?

Could one use distilled or Rodi just to be on the safe side?

I'm Ignorant on this topic, just trying to learn more :fun4:

I'm with you on the tap water I focus so much on keeping my rodi kept at 0 tds I don't know if I'm comfortable with tap water or miracle grow going in my tank ..I understand it's for the aid in a food source for the phytoplankton but if its not all consumed then I'm dumping pollutants into my small ecosystem
