Does my anemone look like it's doing well so far?

What is the reddish area in the center of the anemone? It almost looks like the foot, and that the anemone is upside down.

just the way he was sitting when I got the pic....half of his foot was stuck to the rock and the other half kinda up...he finally got situated and you no longer see it
