my picasso clowns have laid eggs....debating on whether i wanna go through the process of hatching them....what ya think?

well looks like there is 100 or more eggs i hear its a lot of work dont know if i have the time.....and i would never sell them (the pair)...wouldve never got them if i wanted to get rid of them

i may give it a try...i know they cost a lot so i would have a fortune if i succeed....whats the usual survival percentage if done correctly?

It depends on a lot of factors.

You can learn a lot from "Clownfishes" by Joyce D. Wilkerson, as well as a few other books that I am unfamiliar with. There are also many of knowledgeable people on these forums who have posted from experience, reading those posts will help you to improve your success rate.

If you can find the time to raise them then I would say raise them. I look forward to reading posts about your experience raising the fry.

It's a shame Kathy Peck isn't still here. She's raised a couple broods of clowns and could give you some good advice.

She is still on here on occasion. I stay in touch with Kathy on FB. I know she would be glad to help. She had lots of success raising her babies. I had a couple.

well i am not ready to put the time in for this batch of eggs....but i think i will try on the next batch .....wish me luck

How did it turn out Mike? Did you at least try to catch them. I'm in for the first pair. Of course, I'll expect a discounted price since they're experimental. LOL

Maybe someone here would take the fry and raise them if you dont have the time. Not me though I have no idea how nor the time..HEHE

look like they were dying pretty quick....but this was there 1st batch and mine also....am borrowing book to learn the correct way to do this...so as i hear they will start laying them on a regular basis....ill get it right sooner or later
