picasso clowns

Just wanted to post an updated pic. There has been some development in the color/markings...

The little white spot on the tail is new, The black lines by the stripes are becoming more prominent. It also appears his dorsal area is darkening up. When I got him there was not much black at all... Looks like he/she could develop into a nice looking specimen if it keeps up.

Has anyone visited/toured their facility and been able to purchase livestock on the spot? I looked at the site and found out they're about 6 minutes down the road. I'm going to be calling up for a tour but would love to see if I can make it out with a picasso or two!

How much are they selling for in LFSs? Has anyone bred them to a normal to see if the normal or the picasso trait is dominant? Looks like a simple piebalding trait but it's very gorgeous.

Anyone selling their offspring? :D

Well I was planning on bringing a fishing pole but I guess the bag and net will have to suffice. :P

I guess I'm grasping at straws, huh? Well if anyone's parting with any, shoot me a PM! :)

(Will still do a tour anyway!)

I could've had one of these little guys today for $25......but the guy was convinced that it was a sebae clown so he wouldn't give it to me because he knows I already have some true perculas........they also order all their fish from ora farms so I was sure it was a picasso.....I need to go there on his day off and buy it.......

Question of Oama and all other picasso owners.

I went to an LFS that had a pair (One nice, one looked like a regular perc) anyway I had ask them if they'd split the pair and sell me just the one & the guy said no "they had spawned a few times in his tank already" he would only sell them as a pair.

Now he has had them since end of april ... I'm guessing this was a "fib" so he would not look like a jerk in telling me no he did not want to split the pair. I dont see how such a young pair could possibly be breeding ...

BUT... do you think its possible?

nooooooooooooo. its a fib. i highly doubt they have spawned !
you know you cant believe info from most lfs.

unless the clowns have strong black lines along the white atleast.

The smaller one has alot of black in him, the larger does have full black lines as well...

The guys who work at the store were hobbiest first, then opened a store so I know they are not some snot nosed high school kids, they have knowlege...

I dont think I'll believe it unless I see it ... but just thought I'd ask if anyone else has herd of picasso's breading young.

I never wanted both... I dont have the room. I just wanted the smaller one. The larger one looks like a regular true perc with a slight bump at the back of the second band ... I believe he wont split them because he'd never get his money out of the "female" because he could never sell her as a picasso. They want an insane price on the pair too ($200), thats why they have been sitting in the tank since april.

Just got mine. Waited ten months...Marcye at Sea in the City here in Orlando is the BEST!!!! Will post pics in a minute. Little trio...two taking on the picasso trait, one with an almost all white right side...you'll see. Still a little shy and will get better pics when they decide to let me:)!!!!
