At my local frag swap. Anything special about them, i just heard they dont ship well and are quite delicate, but the person i bought it off from said it was in his store for quite a while and is healthy. I trust him and so do others, but feel free to chime in:

its in a high light high flow area, 150 watt MH and a hydor koralia 2 and MJ 600, 20 gallon high tank.

in my experiance. they like a medium flow insted of a really high or direct flow, other than that, its in a great tank :)

Indeed! they don't like strong flow and they are somewhat delicate. When it's dying, it will release toxic secretion in your tank poisonous enough to kill fish.

it needs random indirect high flow and high light. The flow is necessary to blow off the detrius and the "skin" they tend to form

I've got one that is getting roughly 60x an hour turnover or more and seems very happy indeed.

High Light and Moderate to High indirect flow.

In some tanks, iodine dosage can be benificial for growth and color.

hmm, i do weekly 15% water changes, and im not comfortable dosing in such a small tank especially since i had a bad experiance doing it once...

With that water change regime and a small tank, I'd agree, skip the iodine dosage. As long as you're using a good salt mix, your iodine levels should be fine.

hmm, not looking as good, some of the polyps arent extending and the base seems to have this layer of something which has little black spots in it and the base seems shrunken.... Plus my brain coral doesnt look too good but i think thats cause my tank has too much flow..... Im gonna load up on carbon to help prevent a nuking....

weeellllll no decrease in health from the toadstool, the base seems kinda shrunken but the main part is open with polyps out. Brain coral is open again because i put it under a rock so only half gets light, and the half that gets light is closed..... I guess tehy dont like light lol.
