this is a post from my local forum. Any idea why things would drop after 4-6 weeks.
"For everyone who just built or already has a kalk reactor and is using Mrs. Wages pickling lime please note that even though there is still lots of precipitant in the reactor and still clouds up when it's mixed you should still change it about every 4-6 weeks. You can tell by your Ph and/or Alk reading, if either starts to drop, replace the powder. I found this out when my Ph dropped to about 7.8 and my alk dropped to about 7.0 but there was still lots of ppt in the reactor. I cleaned it out and put fresh Mrs. Wages in and the alk and Ph returned to normal.
I know we probably have a lot of new kalk users out there now and hope this alieviates some problems for those new users."
