I have a 2.5 gallon pico. It has 1 5 X 5 X 3 pump compartment and that is it. What do y'all recommend for a heater? I really can't get away without one during the winter months as my house is set at 62*.

try floating candles. lol

I have used the hydor mini heater for awhile with my little brother's 5 gal freshwater aquarium and haven't had any issues

Tetra makes an extremely small heater that is preset to 78 degrees. It's 50 watts and measures less than 6". Walmart carries it around new jersey.

The Tetra heater at Walmart seems like a good option, except they have a habit of failing ON. I had a tank get to over 90 degrees before attempting to recover. I went looking for people with similar stories and found several on the various forums.

It may have been a manufacturing problem that is since fixed. I will personally stay away from these for a while.
