hehe, i knew you guys were suckers for acans etc, but i just never thought that dendros would be so expensive over there. You just see a dinnerplate size colony in the shops and walk right past it here, they pretty much dont sell that well.

Just stopped by the LFS. They have dendro frags about the size of a pea for $75 each!

Are they worth that much now days?

You can get adult polyps online for about 60-80. Fish store prices are almost always higher.

So what are you keeping your dendro's under?

They're off to the side under 2x150 watt halides, but IME they don't care about the lighting. Dendros are azooxanthellate.

Nice! how many polyps did you start out with and what was the growth rate?

Rite now my dendro is recovering from a PH/ALK/CA swing... poor guy, I hope he survives. It has a baby nub growing from the side.

I have 7 polyps of the coccinea, one of the arbuscula, and 3 of another I don't know the species of. I haven't had them very long though, no new polyps so far.

Do these corals have the care requirements of sun coral?

The dendros do, except they can eat a whole lot more. The duncanopsammia is photosynthetic.

Here´s mine:

It had that recession when arrived; now is recovering in a friend´s aquarium who feed a lot with phytoplancton, live brachionus, live brine shrimps etc.

I don´t know how to differ beetween D. ijimai, D. arbuscula and D. cylindrica.

SInce the dendro head are not connected to each other, do you guys have to feed every single head? I asked because I have a colony of sun coral and all the heads are connected to each other so that I dont have to feed each and every single head.
