Ok, so the 50kb limit has absolutely killed the clarity of the pictures, but anyone who wants a copy just send me a pm and I'll email you the real deal full size.

I actually may take you up on that. Its just lately I've had other stuff to do because of it being summer and all, that im not able to make some of the meeting. Im not sure about August meet yet but will definatly ask for a ride if I can go.............and if you planned on going.

Shoot, I'll be there with bells on- and it's no prob for you to hitch a ride. :)

Jason, I didn't get pics of anyone's shoreline catch, but I can post a pic of what I brought home?

Laurie

By the way, Jason, do you know the name of the reddish/cream starfish with too many legs that is pictured in that very last tank pic? The more I look at it, the more I like its inherent weirdness.

Laurie

I'll have to look that one up.
Yes, post some pics of what you brought home. How did your fish like the mysids?

Ok, will do shortly.

My mandarin went nutso, like he does at the shoreline. He was flabbergasted at the big ones though, and were they ever terrified of him!! Flopped all around the fuge, and then I froze the dead ones. You know, the temp of the shoreline water is usually a problem, he does ok for a bit then it tends to hit him and he gets lethargic, at which point I transfer him again. Now that I know how to catch them, I will probably just let him eat in the fuge.

Snails and hermits are doing well and the hermits are duking it out in the bottom of the fish only tank. (Only fish in there at the moment is the baby panther grouper). The hermits are incredibly amusing, chasing each other at the speed of light all over the bottom of the tank. They have no clue they are in a aquarium and THUNK! against the glass. Sounds like pistol crack when they whack into it.

And in the other side... the Maineiac hermit crab fights!

We pretty much just scooped our nets under some seaweed during low tide. It was a blast and I have a few ice cube trays full of fish food now. ;)
Thanks again Jason!

Thanks everyone!
Laurie, you might want to keep an eye on that large crab. In your picture, your panther grouper looks small. Might be a snack for the crab.
The starfish you asked about is a smooth sunstar, Solaster endeca. The other one in the picture is the same as well. They come in a variety of colors.

He is indeed small, just a baby. They actually fought a few times, which was cool although unsettling... after I took those pics I finally put them into the fuge under the reef tank. Tomorrow I think Aly and I are going to go down to the water again and release the monster crab. He doesn't really have anything to eat down there, and he's tearing up my macro. Wicked fun to have around for a bit though!

Thanks for the info on the star- he's awesome looking in that pic. I think the number of arms on them, makes them look like a stylized sun.
