here are some pics of my first clam. i was told it was a squamosa. i love these things and it has been doing very well for the last 8 weeks. i am going to get the hang of taking care of them for a while and will probably get a few more different types later. it is a small one so i feed DT's every other day. my question is, there are a few small aiptasia stalks on the base of the clam shell. they are probably too small to see in the pics. anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of them without hurting the clam? im afraid shooting kalk at them may damage the clams mantle.

thanks for your ideas and comments

Thats funny i had the exact same problem with my golden squamosa,,,two of those lil anemones on the lips of the shell near the mantle,,,,now your probally gonna get a bunch of different advice,,,personally i have always used boiling hot water or kalk,,,not injecting either,,,i use a baster or eye dropper to smother them with it,,,now in the case that you have and what i did,,,,i did not want to hurt my lil clam either so i had always noticed the anemones will attach to glass if they are on a rock that is making contact with glass in the tank,,,so for 3 days or so i layed the clam up alond side (anemone side){{{ANEMONES HAVE TO BE TOUCHING THE GLASS OR IT WONT WORK}}} against the glass and they did as i planned both anemones attached to the glass,,,so i was able to replace the clam anemone free back in its original position and had free access to destroying the anemones any way i saw fit,,,boiling water in this case.,,,If i was you let a few more people give you some ideas as well and go with the one that you think will best suit your needs.:D

I like that glass trick. Good idea! I usually remove the clam from the tank and with a sharp knife scratch them off. Then scrub the area under running water (sink).
