Because clowns basically don't exist to anemones. Clowns are somehow (as far as I understand it's still largely unknown to biologists) immune to the sting/adhesion of an anemone, which means they don't trigger a feeding response. It's not any kind of decision made by the anemone.

That is, if I understand correctly everything I've read.

And also, there are stories of haddoni eating clowns, as well as stinging/grabbing them when people tried to force the clown to host.

Correct. Nems can't recognize clowns.

GSM whatever camera you are using i want it. My camera is canon powershot A85 and i can not for the life of me get pics to come out that nice. Is your tank glass or acrylic.

My Panther grouper is very similar in locomotion. Of course he will be quite large in time should be really cool to watch. He has a lot of personality. Much like my yellow tang. The tang likes to hover next to the algae scraper to catch food while i am cleaning the glass. He actually bumps into it and gets in the way. He is not attacking it just feeding. The yellow tail damsel attacks the scraper, that little tird. The clowns though are just generally cool watching My perc clown it is not hard to tell why they are called clown fish. "this mollusk walks up to a sea cucumber and er well he doesn't actually walk up -----------------"

LOVE that male-female-mandarin pic...its like they are posing for it.

i'm really lucky--my gsm doesnt make sandstorms...the nem moved himself to a shelf i have 1 foot up, and sits on that rock. she sits on him. no sand :)

You should just try moving your anemone up onto some rocks...

(I KID! I KID!)
