always wanted a Niger Trigger after seeing a school of them while diving in Costa Rica, had to have been 1000 of them and the black and blue flash was just unreal.
What color are the PE under daylight?

The PE's aren't really that dark burgandy color. One or two is, the rest look more green in the centers with some burgandy mixed with them. I thought they looked cool for the colony price so I snatched it up!
Thanks for the compliments....now this makes me wanna buy more coral! Must resist...need to let these grow first!
I was afraid of getting the Niger but they say he is the most friendly out of the Triggers...so I am watching him still. If he eats my clowns he will be gone! LOL
I feed him silversides 3 times a day because the mysis seems to be an appetizer to him. I will get a better shot of him with the daylights on because he is a gorgeous blueish/green color.

Niger triggers are one of the better reef safe fish, IMO I would not feed him that much, that is a lot of food=fish poop that is going to turn into high nitrates. I used to have three trigger in my old 120 and at best I would feed them 2 times a week. Shrimp with shells and Krill is another great food source for triggers. Great choice of fish J.
Ade....I can understand the high nitrates...but what if he gets overly hungry and starts picking off my veterans?
I did the change to the 75 this weekend and thoroughly cleaned the old sand and added the new with some small crushed coral. The old sand took about 15 minutes of cleaning just to get the water from being a dark brown color! I was thinking I shouldn't have cleaned it that much...but that cyano was bugging me!
