Pics with new camera!!!

im an addict lol
ok I have spent about 20 hours or so reading and learning how to become a better photographer and just learning my name camera. here are a few of the pictures. non of these pictures have been edited at all. Just played with f/stop, ISO, and shutter speed till I found what I was looking for. This is the first time I am posting pictures under blue light. they are not LED but it is under 2 ATI Blue Plus Bulbs

any tips to make the pictures better are welcome.

here is where the 105 is limited. this is on the last rack in the very back of the tank can't get very close. I didn't crop it. that would have got me closer. but as I said no editing on any pics what so ever.

Slacker!! I tested my tank on Friday, first chalice is probably criminal minds from Jay and unknown zoas I think are apollos
 
makes me want to get a good camera not only for the tank and corals but a good camera to stop life
 
stunning. Even if i had a great camera, I couldn't get shots like this. Nice landscape to work with (livestock). Without a great tank, you wouldn't have Awesome pics! Great job on both fronts!!!!!!

Didn't get that from jay. Got from faois. I test my tank on Mondays so I am ahead or schedule :)

Yup got great pics of my son playing basket ball and looking forward to using my 300 mm telephoto lens at my son's baseball game.

Great photos of some great pieces! I've only heard great things about you and your tank. Maybe I'll get the opportunity (honor) to see them sometime.
 
See roger - I told you it would only take a little while to learn it. These look great.

What's your f-stop and Iso at? Your white balance looks well adjusted for the blue only light. It looks like you might be able to tweak the f-stop just a bit more to get a little better depth of field (but like I said - these are pretty good). As C4DC said in another thread - higher f-stop is more depth of field (more items to the rear are in focus).

You already found one of the ideas I had after seeing your frag rack - that is - tilt the plugs to the front of the glass.

My only other idea is to take top down pics through an acrylic box. That would be difficult due to the requirements of running manual focus (assume you are doing this).

U were right. I could have easily made the corals come out much better looking but my goal was to make pictures as accurate to actual colors I see with my eye.

Yes I'm not on auto I am doing manual adjusting. I will look tonight and see what all the final setting were on these. I tried so much stuff I don't remember what there were at. I played with f stop to get more DOF but with the 105 mm lens it didn't change much. With the 60mm it did though

ok Ted here is a few of them.

Blue agave ISO 6400,F/5.6,1/60s, all photos where -.7 EV

peach milli 6400,F/10,1/15

Mohawk 6400, F10, 1/40s

most are somewhere in those areas. I played with each pic a little different
