Looks good. Nice setup. Corals look a bit pale but have good colors. Are you running a ULNS?

Thanks for taking the time to comment. The true to life colors are not showing up yet with the camera. Need to play with it some more, having said that, they are a little pale. I have been running NP pellets now for close to two months. My skimmer just about stopped skimming after six weeks. I need to feed feed feed.

The new lights also gave me issues. I lost a few colonies due to bleaching. Some hung on and now just started to color up.

This anemone used to be darker green...

Nice corals but I too think they look a little pale. What is your light period like? Also since introducing pellets I have been feeding more then twice as much.

Hi Darryl,

It's a pink tail trigger. I took a risk putting him in my tank. Seems to be working so far.

I actually took your advise earlier and shortened photo period. Four bulbs come on for eight hours and the other four for 3. I will be increasing this one very slowly. Some corals are still bleaching and getting worse each day. I also had issues with high DKH and had to turn my CRx down.
I really need to increase feeding. I also only have six fish in this tank. So my guess is nutrient is really low. What kind of pellets are you using?

Do you dose AA's to your tank? If you dont you should with a ULNS. You may need to dose iodine and potassium to tweak colors as well. And yes feed feed feed.

allsps40 - I do not dose AA's. I will take your advice seriously. Someone suggested using Zeo K-balance. What would you suggest? What does AA's exactly do? Thanks.

I've got my SPS from all over (RR,ORG,NAFB,AK and countless people I have bought and traded frags). Naturally the best stuff I think I've added to my tank have come as samll fragments from follow reefers. Most of nicest stuff is still quite small although I have kept a few of my favorites around for years and they are starting to get big. As you probably know SPS can be quite a challange....but worth it IMO.

Oh also I agree with the others in saying that AA can help with the paling colours but feeding the corals and fish can also help. Getting darker colours could be a double edge sword though because some corals look better darker and other lighter. That coral in your first picture looks great to me the way it is but the coral in the 3rd and 4th look too like. A balancing act with nutrients it is...

I use Blue Life Potassium, it the same as K balance but costs less. AA's supply the corals with fats and acids sps need and lack in a ULNS, it works like a food source for them. Helps improve pale colors and growth. For AA I use AquaVitro Fuel or Kent Amino Acids, they both have the same stuff in then and in almost the same amounts, but I lean to the Fuel more than Kent for AA. Zeo products are to pricy IMO.

Thanks for the offer Dave. You may not remember, but I have been to your house and was privileged to see your awesome tank. In fact, one of the colonies that survived all the issues I encountered was from you and it's growing well with excellent coloration. Will send you a pm.

OMG, just realized you sold your tank!? What did you do with all the corals??

Start with a half dose of AA as it can cause a boom. I have never had this problem but have heard of it. That second coral is really cool. Do you know what it its??
