Pictures of My Tank (don't open if you are in a hurry!)

ostrow

It's Dr. Goodluck Himself
Playing around after having a great day (finished book manuscript, got lame office assistant finally dismissed, lowered waterline in tank by dremeling slats w/new dremel, swapped props in mj stream mod and now have massive 3000gph flow on that sea-swirl, etc). Lots of pics of my tank and its inhabitants to follow.

Your tank looks fantastic! It must feel great to have it looking so good after all of the tank troubles you've had.

Thanks jski.

Bebo: I love them. Can't control them like you can control the 6200s. But I can have them off a couple hours, then on a few hours, on a timer. I'm gonna switch them off 4x a day to give the fish and corals a break. With the Dumas prop on there it's pushing 3000GPH, and on the sea swirl with the wavebox and a stationary mj stream pushing 1600, the swirly big one needs to be off a while.

But short answer: they are awesome and at $30 vs $350 or whatever it is for the 6200s, well, I'll do without the dc motor and controller!

Thanks Rob: yeah, Dr. Goodluck Himself seems to be in a calm period! I seem to always have little problems/crises around but I've learned to ignore them for the most part (flatworms blanketing the fuge, fish dying for no reason, bubble algae exploding in the display), or just trying different plans of attack and observing what new problems they cause! That's what the hobby is all about, no? But it's only 15 months ago that I had all that water in my basement 3 nights in a row. Still get a stomach ache thinking about it. It is very nice to have things looking good and growing.

Yeah Joe. This goes back to my luck. The Kole is the beast of the tank. Harrases every other fish. I am fairly sure it killed Highlander's scribbled rabbitfish which was more than 2" bigger. It seems now to be targetting the sixline (half its tail is missing), and always squabbles with the Hepatus. Those wounds I bet were possible othe rfish fighting back. He probably leaves the flame hawk alone now, I'm guessing.

But it's all a guess. He's alive and a gorgeous and useful fish.
