Here are some pics of my mantis, Tom. He's been a real wimp ever since i bought him and never come out of his hole when i can see him. Well i found him outside today, and got 2 alright pics.

Looks to me like a G. smithii - I believe the merals are pretty distinct to that species. It is the same one Density Man has, look for pics to compare your's to in his "supermantis" thread. If I am not mistaken his is named Tim, lol... Tim and Tom the wimpy supermantis duo... :D
 
Threre are two species of Gonodactylus that have similar coloration, G. smithii and G. acutirostris. G. smithi is common throughout the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean. G. acutirostris are found in the far western Indian Ocean and Red Sea.
