Ron,

Is the owner keeping his anthias long term? I notice some species that are considered very difficult such as P. tuka, P. ventralis and even P. dispar. What food and how many times per day does he feed to keep those species healthy? Do his P. bartlettorum all turn male like they do for so many people? Thanks.

Most of the Anthais are kept quit long. As far as I know from the owner the tukas are most difficult to keep in long terms.
At several moments a day several blisters of frozen foods and live mysis enters the tank. All the fish are well fed an fat. A fat fish is the hardiest fish.

Ron.

The sandbed is so clean. Does he siphon regularly or use some other technique?

Every 4 to 6 weeks the sandbed is mostly replaced for new. This tank is displayed in a firm that shows very luxury fire places. The owner likes to have the bottom as clean looking as possible.
The negative side effect is that bacterial populations are removed but with over a 1000kg of live rock and bacterial additives the tank does fairly well:)

Pretty good idea, I guess he's getting rid of alot of PO4 that way as well.

Hey Ron!

Thanks for the great series of pics. It is always very inspiring to see Pieter's system.

Wow, loving all those angels! Pair of clarions, pair of flagfins, goldflake, bluespot, africanus what else? Conspics? I'd love to see a stock list, especially of some of the rarer fish.

I have been around the hobby for a good amount of years and in that time I have seen some nice tanks and a few simply AMAZING systems. This has to be in the top 2-3 I have ever seen! I thought the tank was incredible when it was featured as TOTM...now words can not describe it. AWESOME!!

Any chance we could update the utube video that was listed above to show the maturity this tank now holds?!?!?!

Amazing tank.
where in Holland Are you?
I'm in Best for a two weeks visit leaving on Sat Morning unfortunately. Could you suggest any good LFS in the area. I have so far been at Coenens aquarium which I always visit and already picked a lot of stuff but getting to visit more LFS is always good.
Thanks for any info.

Hi,
the tank stands in Vlaardingen.

For the best LFS you'll have to go to Reef Corner in Belgium. This shop has the best reputation in the Netherlands and Belgium. And even has clients from Germany and England. http://www.reef-corner.be/

Excuse me for my poor English.

I'm by no means anywhere near the photographer that Ron is but these were my pics of the parrot. I've been fortunate enough to have seen this tank several times over the last couple of years and it just gets better and better with age. One of my most favourite tanks of all time... countless hours have been lost just sitting in front of this.

That Parrotfish is one the best looking fish I've ever seen. The colours are outstanding. I have to have one.
