Pimafix is no good for bta?

research and more research is the only way to get ready. there's plenty of proven ways to start a tank. no need to re-invent the wheel

ammonia will not lower on its own. It will only build up. your base rock has no bacteria to break down the ammonia. Stress Zym+ removes chlorine from water, not ammonia. Pimafix is a bacterial infection medication. You should worry about water quality first THEN medication...

BTAs won't survive in a brand new tank. You need a cycled tank of 3 months or more (if you know what you are doing). Some people say 6 months to a year before adding anemone.

BTA will inflate and deflate when they are new to a tank. they are performing internal water changes. they will look good and then look bad. your tank is not cycled. your 65 DT is still cycling.. switching the BTA and clowns over after it's cycled may save the clowns, but not the BTA..

I suggest you return the BTA. then do massive water change in the 10 gallon until ammonia is all gone. then keep doing water change until your DT is ready.

They don't do returns where I got it. I got my buddy coming over to help me out with my dt. The bta may have to stay in the 10 for awhile if he makes it. Hopefully this amquel plus does its job. On a positive note the clowns have seemed to pair up which makes me extremely happy!

you could always ask for store credit..

just keep up the water changes to make sure there's no ammonia/nitrite

if your buddy can give you some live rocks, I would put those in the 10gal. also don't forget to set up good lighting. your BTA needs light

I have pics but I think the files are to large off of my phone. Gonna stop at the Los on the way to ball. Keeps opening mouth and looks like it's gutting but sucks everything back in

you can upload to photobucket and then copy the img url.. put it inside
. or click that envelope looking yellow square above your post.

your anemone is stressed... without proper water/lighting, it will die in a few days

I've got the marineland reef compatible leds. 18-36 inch bar. Just treated the ammonia earlier. Put a power head in to give it more flow

They won't do credit either. I'll swap some rock out when he brings it down

If you actually cycled your tank as you said you did and you are still reading .25/.5 ammonia I'm assuming you have an API test kit since they are notorious for that. Again though this is assuming you actually added ammonia, saw nitrites then nitrates...

I did not add ammonia. I used quick start, stress coat, and some damsels. Saw nitrites spike and down to nothing g. I am using an api test and it's held at between .25 and .5 everyday since day 1

Also those marineland lights are not strong enough for a BTA. Marinelands idea of "reef capable" is soft corals and zoas, not anemones.

Thanks I'll look into it. What lights would you reccomend. I would like the clearest, most natural type light if that makes sense

On a 10g I would do a AI Prime LED or a 4 bulb T5 if you didn't want to go LED, either would be much stronger then your current light.
