Ok, I was at the LFS today.. and saw the coolest fish ive ever seen.. ever.

Im typically a predator guy, and find the amazing fish to be the deadly ones.. but this one quite simply blew me away in coloration, textures and price.. Ive never seen a fish under the size of a Canadian $1 coin or loonie for those familiar with our bizzare currency for $500 before tax..

But the colors.. brillant yellows and blue with a glowing mouth.. just amazing.. First time ive ever thought of spending wayyyyy tooo much money on a fish.. but pound for pound, its the most expensive fish ive ever seen.

Thought I would share.

Very amazing fish, when I went to the Downtown Aquarium they had like 10 of these in a deep water tank, now they need that super rare Pristigenys niphonia on DD:)

I've wanted one of those since 2002 :lmao:. Ungodly expensive ($500+) and preferring live shrimp for food rule them out for me. That is an excellent pic, much better than what you find online. You can really see the spikes on it.

Yes they are quite expensive and quite rare. They are a deepwater fish and if i am correct they come from Australia. They also are a cold water fish and will die in the normal home aquarium.

That's one incredible fish... I'm stuck between "cute" and "gorgeous". It sure does look deadly... esp. with that X over the eye...
