Pink and black cucumber

I just picked one of these up the other day to help clean my sand bed. It acclimated well and looks to be healthy, but it continues to climb my glass. Does anyone have any experience with these?

pics would help us ID it and give you a better answer. but all of my sand sifting cucumbers have always stayed on the sand. i have had many and not one of them has ever climbed up the glass.

Where did you get it from? There are cucumbers that are solely filter feeders, which would probably climb the rocks and glass.

It is the Hawaiian black and pink sand sifter (Holothuria sp.). Mine is still on the glass currently.

I have the same cucumber. Mine was on the glass for about 2 weeks then he went to the sand and has been there ever since. Wait a bit and see if he goes to the sand.

I've had one for 2-3 years. He's usually on the sand, but climbs the glass off and on. He rarely ventures onto the rocks. He's a very good cleaner, eating the sand and leaving "clean" sand droppings in piles behind him. Mine is on the glass as I type.
