Hello RC,
Been awhile since I was active here, but I'm back now with a nano set up. All has been going well, except my fist addition of an acan appears to have what could be the beginnings of pink line disease. There seems to be very little information on this particular disease, except that it's almost always fatal and bacterial (possibly related to cyano). So I figured it best to start a thread to keep people appraised of my experience.
To date the coral is still showing good polyp extension, Inflation, and does accept foods. Tissue recession seems to be minimal for now and along the frag cuts, but the skeleton does show a pink coloration (typical of pink line disease).
Treatment: for now I plan to do nothing and see if the coral will recover on its own. If not I plan on trying a peroxide dip, as peroxide is effective on cyano and other bacterias. Also from what I have read on forums antibiotic dips seem to be largely ineffective on pink line.
I'll throw some pics up shortly
