Pink Mille Growth

As you can see over the past month this pink mille has really started to take off, both encrusting and forming a bunch of new branches. Just thought I would share. I have had it for 4 months, but have recently been keeping up on alk/calc nearly everyday(reactor in the wings) I cannot imagine how quickly a big colony must grow. give me a few more months and ill post pics of that.

what are you keeping your alk and calcium at? you are doing something similar to randy's 2 part correct?

Holy crap at the growth! I must be doing something wrong with my pink milli :( mine has looked like your first pic for 6 months now.

That is some great growth indeed! I just put a set of halides on my tank this past weekend and hope to start seeing some growth like that as well :P. My T5s were working but I think they should do a bit better under the MH....I guess we will see

i had it for six months before it took off.
i try to keep my alk at 3, ca is ~400. yes randy's two part

i feed frozen rotifers, cyclopeeze, oyster eggs, and mysis along with other fish food.

I think the most direct cause of the growth is a tunze stream; mille's love the flow. I did a bit of rearranging broke a big orange cap that was blocking it, and now it is getting even more flow. The stream is coming in off the back glass from the right, and in the two weeks since about a dozen new white coralites have developed.

Here is a top down shot, but it was way too dark and i had to photoshop so you could see, but it screwed the colors up.

What is your current lighting setup?
2x250 14k aquaconnects and one t-5 aquablue

VERY NICE! I'll bet it grew a big encrusting splash, then the multiple branches grew up from there? I have a Peach and a Pink Milli that I grew from small frags and that's how they grew!

Very nice growth. I'd consider switching back to AC 14K but the price really hits plus I didn't see a big change from the XM 10ks.
