I've got beautiful Pink w/Neon Green mouth tube anemone that I no longer have room for. I've had it in my shallow sand bed for a year or more - health, happy. It's clearly true that they do not need a deep sand bed to thrive. I don't have in buried more than an inch.

Also, I've got several small fish that it's never taken. SO IMO their reputation as fish killers is overblown. I'm not going to say it couldn't take a small fish, but I've got two small ones that have never had trouble with it - and I've got a small tank. It will sting some corals though.
