ok so i added a pair of pink skunks im my 75g about 2 months ago and our lights need to be replaced so we have a pretty good bit of algea. and 1 of my pink skunks seems to be hosting a rock covered in algea. i cant get a pic of it because evrytime i get 5 ft from the tank it gets off of it. but if i sit on my couch about 10ft away it just kinds swims in it like its an anemone... is this normal for clowns? i no it proly wont hurt it but its just odd... any of ur guys ever dont this?

never heard of THAT. It is very interesting to hear that he is hosting ALGAE.

I have heard they can, and will host anything they really seem interested in hosting. I would say it's not really hurting THAT much, but if it drops food in(as if it were a nem) it might be a nice place for food to sit and fuel the algae.

Look at this thread

My mated pair is hosted by a blue Haddoni.

As for your algae, changing the lights alone won't fix it. There has to be excess nutrients in the tank to be feeding the algae, if that isn't addressed will still have it even with new lights.

yh we have an urchin abot 30 crabs and some snails... we have a a 5" yellow carpet and i got no idea why it wont host that... we have a pair of occies and skunks and neither host it

one of my clowns host in a frilly mushroom and one host in frogspwan they have even convince my hippotang to host.but will they go near my 4 RBTAs?not a chance

My ocellaris hosted around a power head before they settled with the frogspawn.
