Pink Square Anthias

Hello.... My LFS has a LARGE male Pink Square Anthias and wanted to know if they are hard to keep or what your experience is with them.. THANK YOU

Agree on the space - they are a larger tank fish.

They are not all that easy. Not a great choice for an anthias first-timer (no idea if you are or not). I have had them a few times and never gotten more than a few years out of them - to contrast, I have lyretails and bartletts near, or over, ten years now.

Mine were hard to get to feed at first... took a long time to get them to eat pellets which is really what is necessary to get them fed 3+ times a day with an auto feeder.

I've kept male pleuros on a few occasions (often with a few females) and could never get them to eat pallets. Good point on not being a beginner anthias - not by a large margin. Bimacs are equally attractive and much easier.

I have a 4ft 120 gallon... my LFS (good friend) has had him for 2 months and is eating reef frenzy.... I have done salt all of my adult life and some as a Juvi.... Never had an Anthias before and thing the pink square is awesome.... but if its hard to keep, Im not sure I want too...
