Pink tail trigger reef safe????

I was just given a pint tail trigger and the owner swears up and down that it will not eat any shrimp or harm fish. He said it never has. It was in a 700 gallon tank and my mixed reef is a well stocked 125 gallon. Should I try or should it go to the LFS?

Shrimp will be gone lickity split, I have a pinktail in a 210 fowlr, that 125 is way too small, he will out grow it eventually but I would never put him in a reef. Mine is about 5" now, he picks up rocks and occasionally crunches up a hermit in the shell and a snail. He even grabs my toothbrush when I'm cleaning. The thing about triggers are they just go a bit nuts from time to time, if he went on a rant he could do some major damage, crunching up corals and moving things around. In the 700 he might have been quite different, but for how long?, he will be much different in a smaller tank.

I personally wouldn't take the risk. Pink tail is pretty likely to eat inverts. Especially down sizing from a 700 to a 125.

Don't get it. Not only will all shrimp be eaten, any new comers that aren't medium to large will be looked at like a meal. Just recently watched this happen in a 250g...
