pink tip St. Thomas

I'm starting to build up a collection of cool St. Thomas and wanted to post up a picture of how one of them is coloring up so I can keep track. When I picked this one up a couple of weeks ago it was brown with a tiny bit of pink in it, I'd say it's progressing nicely :)

btw this picture is under only one white T5 and one blue T5, under my LED's the pink is so bright it blows out my white balance so I had to turn them off lol

Yeah you can really see how mushrooms are technically classified as anemones with St Thomas. I have one that's completely brown but with a little green pigment infection on one of the bubbles, really looking forward to seeing how that one colors up too...

I guess due to my ignorance, I didn't pick up bland looking St. Thomas Mushrooms in the past. The few times they've come in they've been greyish colored or brown, would you recommend picking them up in most cases to let them color up, or do you look for a color poking through like this one? (the pink) Any tips would be much appreciated by everyone I would say. :D

The majority of corals I pick up are mostly browned out, you just need to find that one speck of color that shows what the rest might look like and use your imagination. In this case the whole thing was brown but one of the little bubbles near the mouth was neon pink. I came across another one with similar potential so I took more pics today to give an example. You can see the pink tip one and the badass red ones with some uggos that look like they don't belong there. I'll leave some space then show them again with the details circled. That's how you find gold.

See? Waste of time uggos... but then there's this one tiny pink spot...

Yeah so basically just like gambling on browned out acros, though I imagine easier to color back up. I'll try to pick the next one up I see, doubt my LFS would even know what a St. Thomas Mushroom was, so requesting it most likely wouldn't be fruitful. :)

Thanks, and great collection you have going on.

Wow really lovely! I have a small collection started but yours are amazing. Where are you finding the vibrant colored ones?

Pretty much, sometimes it's just a brown coral but other times it's something awesome. Worth the risk imo :)
