usually with my euphyllia i find that when they're not opening up wide it is usually due to one of three culprits:

1. too much flow
2. too much light
3. not enough alkalinity

your alk looks fine, so maybe it is just getting too much of #1 or #2.

you said it is a new addition, did you light acclimate him? how many weeks have you actually had him? i've had some LPS take as long as 3 - 4 weeks and several moves to really get good polyp extension and become happy.

have you tried feeding it? my frogspawn has a pronounced feeding reaction, my torch not so much, but it couldn't hurt.

Well I've had him about 2 mouths now and when I put him in the tank he opened all the wa y and was flowing. See the problem is that my water was dirty for the longest time. Not to lack of water changes. I just never ran any filters in my sump so all t he corals loved it. But I got tired of not having clear water and phosphates were raising. So I added filter floss and reactor with gfo and carbon at the same time. So,with in turn my water got cyst al clear in two days and all my zoanthids got ****ed and none of them would open for a few days. Plus I think they got light shock cause I'm sure the par changed to clean water. So I did a water change and took reactor off line for a couple days and the only still happy is the torch. And these was two weeks ago. So I am lost, the torch is Heathly and open. Just not extended.... I would post a pic but I can't figure out have to post pic on forum with my phone. Human error I'm sure
