Pinktail Trigger and Dogface?

Would a Pinktail trigger and Dogface Puffer be good tank mates? Going into a 150 Gallon Tank fowlr. Thanks!

I think they should be compatible, but the pinktail may get a little large for your tank. If you keep these two, I'd have them as the largest fish in your tank, and fill in with a few smaller fish that are well under 1 foot. Occasionally, pinktails can show aggression, but IME they are fairly mellow. Dogface puffers, also IME, are the nicest of the Arothron puffers, and are almost always very peaceful.

pinktails are slow growers and generally very mellow....but, the pinktail i have now is very aggressive....had a pinktail in a 250 for almost 10 years....maybe was 7inches after all that time...dfp is a good tankmate...

have had a few pinktails...kept one in a 250 for 10 years she maybe got to 7.50 from 3.50...have had my current pinktail for 2 years...got at around 3.5 inches...maybe 4.25 now...ime, they have not grown rapidly...ime, clowns, queens, golden hearts, and fuscus all grow quicker then a pinktail...

I have seen them around a foot long occasionally in aquaria, fishbase says max 40 cm, about 14". I don't have a lot of experience with growth rate, got mine fairly large. If you start with a smallish one (say 4-5") you can see how it goes. Even if it reached a foot, your tank would still probably be okay, as long as you didn't have too many other fish that size.

If you want a smaller trigger from the mellowish group, I think Indian triggers (NOT the Hawaiian durgon) max out around 10".

That's shocking. My humma has only grown an inch or so in a few years, but the pinktail I had grew from about 3.5" to just under 7" in a year. She was in my 125 and I had to give her to a guy with a 400.
I'ld like to hear others experiences because my was headed to becoming a monster.

is she still in the 400? would love to see pictures...love them, wish my current one wasn't so aggressive...she is mean...and often goes on the offensive...first trigger, i have seen to really do that, ime, they have been mellow but should not be messed with as they can readily defend themselves...but my current is real obnoxious....
