Did you modify it or are you using a different brand calcium reactor? Ours doesn't have a provision for an internal probe. The ph set point I usually use is 8.10-8.15. At that pH the CO2 turns on. Usually you need to start lower and over time the Ca and KH levels raise the pH and you can raise the set point as high as 8.20.
I was monitoring my PH this weekend and it doesn't drop below 8.15 or go above 8.19 day or night.
I get my Rx today or tomorrow.
So I guess I can set it at 8.15 and see what happens.
rvitko, I don't understand why you are running your Ca Rx at 8.?? That won't dissolve the media. Am I missing something here? Am I misunderstanding the thread?
Freed, what brand Calcium reactor are you running?
Tunze directions says to keep the probe in the main tank, or sump and I don't think the reactor has room for a probe.
Freed, for years calcium reactors have been run by tank pH, the pH inside the reactor is lower but the CO2 is only turned on when tank pH rises above a certain threshold, this method gives a more stable aquarium pH. It is just another way to do it.
