Pinpoint Salinity Monitor - Please help

I am sick and tired of refractometers, floating hygrometers etc.

I want something I can dip in the water and read the salinity off of LCD. I was looking at Pinpoint Salinity Monitor but have some questions.

Is the reading instantenous? I will use it mainly for water changes to both verify current salinity in the tank and make sure the new water is at the same salinity. I know that with PH meters you are supposed to keep the proble always submerged and never let it dry. Is it the same with salinity probe. What should I keep it in between water changes/checks? If anybody has any expirience with this type of equipment or can recommend similar alternative, please chime in.

Thank guys.

I know they also make pens for sampling the salinity for Koi Ponds but I am not sure if these pens can test salinities as high as required for a marine environmnert
