Pipefish Selection

Are there any pipefish that would be suitable in a 60 cube mixed reef? One that can handle moderate flow and not get eaten by LPS? Food is a non issue- lots of copepods, a refugium, and hiding resting places within tonga branch rock. TIA.

A lot of people keep Dragonface Pipefish in Reef Tanks as well as Flagtail Pipefish. Just make sure you don't have any anemones.

I'd second the flagtails.

I have a blue stripe (D. excisus) in my 40"x24"x24" reef with plenty of LPS and a Vortech MP40.

The trick is to find a pair (or a single fish) that accept Cyclopeeze or other frozen food. I designed my system with a copepod factory for a refugium (big, lots of macro and LR), but only one of my pipefish accepts Cyclopeeze. That fish is noticably healthier and fatter than his girlfriend.
