Does anyone know if any local (Suffolk County) stores carry Piscine Energetics Mysis Shrimp?

Thanks,

CC was the first place that carried PE around here :)
You had to mail order prior to that.
Aquarium Adventures carries PE for you western Nassau peeps.

Pet stop in Huntington Has them sometimes also

before going there it is usually best to give them a call as teh new owner keeps the fishroom lightly stocked

Try Les or Pets Warehouse for the PE Mysis.
I'm still looking for anyone that carries Mysid shrimp.

I wonder if we could do a group buy like House of Fish does on Manhattan Reefs. The food works out to be a really good price by buying it in bulk!

i am in for a group buy on the hikari brand. i am going through six cubes a day with the sea horses. whats the difference between hikari and pe mysis?

Got the seahorse bug now? How are yours doing?

You know, the seahorse.org people always throw the best parties at the conferences...

:)

You know you have the bug bad when you have hundreds of babies in various tanks and phyto and rpot cultures going and someone makes a comment that it looks like a scientific experiment gone wrong LOL

Cool Ray--it's a good bunch over there, and they do know their stuff. If you like that erectus, check this one out:

I've heard really good things about Seahorse Source too.

the one thing I've heard about those appendages is that they can lose them for no apparent reason. I think todd Gardner is the best one to ask, but I think it was him that was telling me they got a bunch with the appendages and they lose them. Might be different if they are captive bred that way though.

Over the next month I'm setting up a tank for H. ingens (big guys), but for me when I get the $$$ I'd love to try H barbouri and the H. capensis, but both are tough to find (the H. capensis are endangered South African). Both of them have fry that are large enough to eat BBS so you don't have to do the whole phyto/roto culture.

that is cool too. i am thinking once i get into an apt i will set up my 40 breeder and make it a sea horse only tank. tey are cool little guys. not as hard as everyone thinks. just need to feed them 2-3 times a day.

post up some pics of your setup once you get it going. i would love to see how you planned it out.

yes they are very addicting and everyone loves them. my buddy in CO wants one for his 50 gallon reef/ goby tank.

Will do. I'm starting a new thread so we don't hijack this one.

Back to PE Mysis: it lists Pets Warehouse as havng it. I may take a drive this weekend then.
