Pistol shrimp concern

I want to get a pistol shrimp/goby pair for my tank. Will the pistol shrimp cause harm to any corals, inverts, or fish in there now?

In my experience no. Mine burrows into the sand under a rock and only comes out at night. It'll pull the trigger when a hermit crab or other crab ventures close to its burrow.

Mine is about 1.5" long.

Agreed. Mine just bulldozes sand day and night. If a hermit, snail or even a fish gets too close it'll fire off a warning pop. Mine's a tiger pistol, about 1 1/2" or so.

It really depends on what you get. If it's a true goby-associate like a randall or a tiger it will be okay. Some LFS mistakenly sell big solitary pistol species as shrimp-associates and these can cause problems.

Yup you are good with that. It can pair up with several of the Watchman Gobies. The Yellow Watchman is the popular one seen with a Tiger Pistol.
