pistol shrimp continued :-(

well i havent heard it in a few days either now. before i replace it i want to know if i am compatable. i think so. heres my tank inhabitants
2 serpent starsbrittle i believe they look hairy
mated pair of golden coral banded shrimp
2 emerald mythryx crabs
assorted soft corals
torch and frogspawn LPS
pair of maroon clowns(no anemone, they live in the frogspawn)
scooter blenny
6 line wrasse
5 blue chromis's
yellow clown goby
yellow watchman goby
if any one thinks i am unsafe for the pistol please tell me why, just so i know not to argue. Thanks

Have you used any chemical in the vicinity of your tank? Our shrimp was done in either by Lysol or PVC primer in the room next to the tank....I guess most shrimp are really sensitive to chemicals.

It's also possible you just got a bum shrimp...

no expert here ,,,, the only thing that i can see that would even stand a chance with a pistol shrimp there are the crabs , and that is iffy too, would have had to be a serious ambush by the crab ,,,pistol shrimp can kill most any crab or other shrimp with one shot from their pistol , it creates a SERIOUS shock wave that gets VERY hot at close range and will kill most anything its size fast ,,,,, there is a you-tube clip floating around here somewhere of the damage a pistol shrimp can do with that pistol claw, it kills a crab of some sort in a second flat from a half inch away ,,,it can make short work of other crabs and shrimp if threatened or fighting ,,, he might have just flat died www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeFUO2F7Gvw

Do they ever stop digging?
I just picked a pistol shrimp at my local petland. Long story short got it for 4.50$. Hes with my yellow goby now making a mess and clouding up my tank.

as far as stop digging ?? nope they will go till they die moving sand in and out of their crib ,,,,,,

Yea I'm not really diggin this lil guy making my tank look like this. I probbaly wont put him in my 72g when I transfer over.

if you get rid of him ,,put me first in line
if you use real fine sand they will work like a mad man to keep it just so so .. when you switch to your 72 gal up and you keep him mix your substrate with some more coarse sand ,,,, it stays where he puts it longer and does not cloud up the water as much when he gets going house cleaning . the real fine sand just seems to make its way right back where he just moved it from ,,,
