Pistol shrimp in sump!

So, I had a paired up ywg and pistol shrimp in my 25g AIO but now since I upgraded to a 40g breeder, I keep finding him in the sump.

When I moved him back up to the display, he was seen doing his thing with the ywg again. They don't do the normal thing where they both come out. The goby comes out and once in a while ill see the shrimp poke his head out.

Today, there he is back in the sump!

I thought they usually stay in the sandbed but he has been riding the waves down to the sump a bunch of times now.

Any ideas? I haven't changed anything livestock wise. Onyx, 6 line, lawnmower blenny, blue chromis, peppermint shrimp and cuc. Tank seems fine water parameter wise too.

The peppermint did take the journey with him once along with the 6 line but I haven't seen him since moving back up back to the display. Hmm he was pretty active during feeding time usually. 6 line is acting somewhat normal. Just alittle more aggressive than before.

Ill have to see if he comes out next time.

Is this something that will just keep happening?

I wouldnt worry too much about the shrimp but the 6 line would worry me. Thats a very tramatic experience for a fish and there wont be much space for him to swim down there. I have found my Peppermint Shrimp down there 1 time and i just recently found my pistol there. I netted and put both back and havent had a problem since. I made sure to release my pistol right next to my goby and their den. You have the HOB overflow or what? I dont know about the pistol cause they are quite small but maybe you can take some egg crate and create a small lip above the overflow.

I have a internal overflow box with herbie system. He is smaller than the egg crate. Just going to move him back up and hope he doesn't come back down. I don't want to add any other filter or something over my overflow box and drains.

6 line has not gone near the overflow since taking the ride down. Hahaha

Haha. Well thats good. Niether one of my shrimp have gone down since the first time. So hopefully they have learned and passed on the information to their tank mates. I have found my female clown in the first section of my HOB overflow. But nothing else has happened since then.
