The other night I spent the 3 hours removing and replacing the 30lbs of live rock and all corals from my 24g aquapod.

To get 3 animals out!

Six Line Wrasse, Sally Lightfoot Crab - both seemed to be getting agressive gone to LFS... but mostly for the following reasons

Pistol Shrimp - Species unknown (maybe Alpheus heterochaelis) I really did not mind his constant digging, I knew about this going in. He never caused any cave-ins or the like. He was however destructive in other ways. Suspect in chunks out of my sand sifting star, now dead. Suspect in demise of Firefish. Suspect in New Red Serpent Star missing tips on 3 legs, I KNOW he did it! Stole new feather duster and ate most of him in his underwater lair. Stole Kenya tree frags on 2 seperate occasions.

For know he has been banished to a 2.5 gallon. Plenty of Live sand and Live rock for them to hide in. Will this be ample? Should I place anything else in with him?

This is probably not going to work long term. He would like a little more space I think and it is difficult to keep the water chemistry in a tank that small stable. Although pistol shrimp seem to be more hardy than most other shrimp, I think this might be tough on one.

Just my $.02,
Kevin

Pistol shrimp don't eat any of the things you discribed. The snapping you hear is the shrimp send shock waves through the water to stun the pods they eat. I think you Sally Lightfoot Crab was your problem. I have had my mantis shrimp in a 2.5 with a mini Bio-wheel for almost 2 years, I think the will be fine.

He was only the suspect in most cases... Innocent unitl proven guilty...

Although I think I will name him O.J. ;)

....Because he is kind of orange in color!

I did however see him take the feather duster and heard a ton of snapping for hours to follow and did pick out the half eaten worm. As far as the Kenya frags goes, he was just using the rubble rock they were attatched to, not eating.

He did take pieces of silverside when offered, I assume he ate that, so why not other things? I seen him snapping at the stars, and assumed he was defending "his territory". Thats why I believe he caused the missing chunks....
