Can anybody provide me with information about Alpheus sp. reproduction?
I collected six pair a year ago in St. Joseph Bay, Florida and they are living in my mixed reef. They were collected under debris on sand bars surrounded by immense fields of eel and turtle grass.
From time to time, I notice some of the females carrying large eggs under the abdomin.
Has anyone raised/bred them in captivity?
Do they have a planktonic stage? If so how long?
I am just wondering if I had any chance reproducing them if I provide the correct husbandry.
