Pistol Shrimp?

So I was wondering what do tiger pistol shrimp eat I was under the unsumption they eat wast or like food. But today when I fed my tank today I see the yellow watchmen let the shrimp out of the hole. Well he skirted about the sand picked up a small nassarius snail that had emerged from the sand. Well he picked up like 3 of them tried taking a video but watchmen was watching me and warned the pistol. So what do they eat? Thanks

We hand feed our tiger pistol shrimp a piece of silversides once every couple days.
Before we lost the paired white ray goby, the goby would catch food and immediately head into the burrow and come back out. We're not sure if he was feeding the shrimp, but when the goby would eat for himself he wouldn't retreat into the burrow between bites.
If you want to hand feed the shrimp, just hold a small sliver of food in front of his burrow and wait for it to grab it. If I pick the wrong hole, sometimes the shrimp will pinch my hand to let me know it's there or it will crawl across my fingers to get the food.
