im looking to pick up one of these, but im wondering the price on theese guys. Anybody know?

Locally I get mine anywhere from $13-18 ($10 sale) depending on where I go. Online I've seen them on sale for as low as $8 with a median of $11-12. These fish also like to be in schools (at least 3 IMO).

would you reccomend them for a 55g reef mixed tank?

I have a trio in my 75 gallon reef. Good community fish, mine tend to swim in the top of the water column so they give some movement up there.

The one i have tends to stay behind the rocks away from the front on the tank, i'm hoping to soon get him a friend.
by mixed what fish are included? 3 PJ's would be fine in a 55gal (depending on tankmates of course). I've seen many with 3 in 20L's.
Once you add another or two I'm sure he will become more active. Some fish are just meant to be with others.

Yeah, I agree. PJ Cardinals need to school IMO.
