Placement/Care of purple goniopora

I bought this, because it was such a great deal, even knowing they are difficult to keep. I want the challenge! If I'm wrong, with what I believe I have, please tell me. I've done some reading, and it seems they do like good light (I have LED's blue/white) and moderate flow. Is that correct? I know about spot feeding them, but I'm open to any suggestions.

Please help me with what I have. I believe it's a Purple Gonipora planulata??

I think this one does need some TLC. Thoughts?

No comments, but I've got to be doing something right. This picture was just taken. Nice difference since the day I got it, only 4 days ago. Have fed R.O.E. (Real Organic Eggs) and coral frenzy.

I had one too. Lasted 6 months. But - yes - same thing - challenge was worth it for me. In the end, I could have saved the money.

Personally from experience, the best place is back in your LFS. I haven't met a poster who has kept one of these healthy. Supposedly iron helps.

Well, I bought it from a friend for only $25, so we'll see Out of curiosity, what did you pay for yours?

I just wanted to update you on how this thing looks now. Some big changes in about 3 weeks. I'm still not positive it's a Gonipora, though I think it is. The person I got it from, who bought it off someone else, says it's a Galaxia.

It's really opening up, but still has that "flowerpot" appearance of it's polyps.

I'd love others to comment and confirm it is a gonipora.

Yes, you are right. Someone else on this site confirmed that for me. It's a nice looking piece, and I'm fine with whatever it is. Just nice to know for sure
